Meet Martha Vallin, MS, MEd, LPC—helping adults and couples navigate life, relationships, and the pressure to hold it all together.

You might be the person everyone calls when they need something—the dependable one, the fixer, the one who figures it out. But being good at holding things together doesn’t mean it isn’t exhausting. You deserve a place where you can put some of that down, without first making sure everyone else is okay.
My style is warm, straightforward, and practical. I’ll listen, ask questions, and help you notice patterns that might be keeping you stuck. There’s room for honest conversations, uncomfortable feelings, and a little laughter along the way. You don’t have to arrive with a perfectly organized life story. The ‘I don’t even know where to start’ version works just fine.
Refinery work was part of the world I grew up in. Friends, neighbors, and relatives relied on those jobs to support their families, and the rhythms of shift work, turnarounds, and shutdowns shaped life throughout my community. That’s the perspective I bring to working with plant and refinery workers and their partners: an understanding of the community, the pride in the work, and the pressures that come with it.
Family, culture, and expectations can make asking for help complicated. We can talk about what you want to carry forward—and what you’re ready to do differently. This is a space where your background, identity, and experiences are respected, and your own needs matter, too.
I’m a Texas Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master of Science in Psychology from the University of Houston–Clear Lake and a Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lamar University.
You don’t need to become a different person to begin. We’ll start with you, as you are—even if you’re tired, skeptical, or coming in with seventeen things on your mind.

At Balance & Bloom Counseling, my mission is to offer a welcoming space where people of all backgrounds, cultures, and identities can feel heard, respected, and supported. Through compassionate, practical therapy, I help clients navigate life’s challenges, build healthier relationships, and make meaningful changes that reflect their own values and needs.
We start with what's actually happening at work and at home, in plain language and without judgment.
We look at how your thoughts, emotions, and past experiences shape the patterns you keep repeating in your daily life and relationships.
Practical coping skills, clearer boundaries, and stronger communication you can use in everyday life—not just in my office.
My goal isn't to change who you are. It's to help you understand yourself, feel more confident in your choices and build a life and relationships that feel like yours.

I offer in-person and online sessions. Reach out using the details below to ask a question or schedule a free consultation. We’ll talk about what brings you to therapy and whether working together feels like a good fit.
